Ruth is 11 years old and in the sixth grade. Her favorite subject at school is art, but she also enjoys math. She is on an IEP. She especially enjoys origami, arts and crafts, and board games.
Ruth enjoys many kinds of foods; her favorites are spaghetti and meatballs, meatloaf, cake, and cookies. She would love to help her adoptive family with cooking and meal preparation.
Ruth is aware that she cannot return to her birth family. She admits that she is nervous about meeting a new family, and a therapist is helping her process those feelings. She would love to have a family with a mom, dad, and siblings, along with some pets; she especially likes cats. Ruth wants her new family to know that she writes letters to her older sister. This is very important to her.
Ruth has endured trauma and grief, and will need a patient, trauma-informed family. Her continued participation in counseling/mental health services is very important to her well-being.
